week three - wednesday evening (akira)
[Prussia's on the beach checking her own bandages. Newt had already helped her with the worst of her scratches, and the rest she'd been able to take care of herself. Her blouse is unfortunately the shreds of cloth she used as bandages, so she's just sitting in her plain white bra. Don't get too excited now.]
...Looks like me and Lief and Jacopo weren't the only idiots, huh? [she says, turning slightly at the sound of footsteps. Sorry not sorry, Akira, she doesn't look like she regrets their adventure at all. Especially when the others got it much worse??]

[She flaps a hand, then winces at the movement. Ow. Fuck. Have to keep extra movements to a minimum here, lest she open another one of her cuts.]
Can't speak for the other groups, but we knew what we were getting into. Don't know what Jacopo said to Laphicet but... he'd have been okay. I made sure of it.
[She moves, just a little, to try to pat Akira's shoulder.]
You're right, though, kid. We all need to be more careful. We got lucky.
[If "lucky" is really a word that can be used in light of all these casualties.]

[he sighs, mildly aggravated.
it's like not a single person here who went on this dumb excursion understands this.]
Leaving the burden on Laphicet is pretty damn stupid, too. He's capable, but he's still a kid...
[he worries about everyone. which is why he's aggravated.]
Someone really could have gotten killed today. A few someones, even.

[Savor the moment, Prussia's conceded twice in a row. Except not really, because;]
Far as I knew, it was just me, Jacopo, and Lief who were going out. We need to share our information more if we're gonna work together. We got lucky 'cause Jacopo and I are awesome swimmers, but... could have been worse. Could have been a lot worse.
[She drums her fingers absently against the sand, still frowning.]
I don't think anyone will be stupid enough to do anything tomorrow, and then the weekend...
[:/ who deda]
Monday, maybe you and me could try to make sure that if people are going to go exploring, that the rest of us know. We gotta organize this place. If it was up to me, I'd run it like an army, but I think we got some free-spirited types who'd chafe. It'd be worse in the long run.

[he agrees.]
More like an open forum. The rest of the group needs to know what everyone saw and went through, as much as they can. Everyone needs to know the risks, partners should be involved and prepared for consequences.
[a pause.]
There's some risk of killers targeting, but I don't think it's that big of an issue if explorations—if we have any—are kept to Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednedays at most. The efforts need to be organized. There wasn't enough foresight this time, and a lot of people paid too heavy a price for it.
[he gets why people would want to be secretive, but it's just too damn dangerous for people to go acting on their own. and reckless as she was, akira is, at least able to loosen a bit with her acting with at least some remorse for the situation. he doesn't ask for her to regret her actions, but everyone needs to learn from these mistakes and do better.
a breath, and... he shares something a bit more raw:]
I had a group of people I worked with on some things before I got here. Me, and Haru... and our other friends. And we made it an agreement that we didn't pursue anything that could be risky unless we agreed unanimously. That's how it should be with a team.
[not. you know. people running off without telling their teammates what the hell is going on.]

[But then, Prussia doesn't have a lot of experience with civilian life. Maybe it's different for these cute kids here. She can't be sure.]
Then we got people who might want to go somewhere, but shouldn't. I dunno about you, but I'm not the type to sit idly by while my partner does something stupid. But there's people who might be a risk to bring along. Should we hold back somebody capable of defending themselves just so their partner can go along too?

[they're not soldiers, after all. they come from different worlds, backgrounds and cultures. he understands where prussia is coming from, though—their worlds are inherently similar because it's still the same earth.
except that his countries don't have humanized versions, and hers doesn't have persona-users like him, probably.]
I don't disagree. I don't think sending someone in who can't defend themselves is a good idea if their partner is capable. But it's the sort of thing we need to discuss. [...] I probably would have went too, if I knew my partner was going to run off like that.
[but he knows how to defend himself much better than he lets on, so it's fine, probably.]
